I like to think of myself as a nostalgic creature. My childhood is important to me, and I carry it with me always into everything that I do, including my work as a designer. Design is very much like a child in a sandbox. It is our toy to play with and to imagine and create new things. It is that playful soul that I bring to my work.
Design should look to always create something that’s going to be new. The “heart and feel” should accurately represent the function. The end result should allow people to look at the design and have an understanding of what it stands for. It is important to create designs that will be strong enough to withstand the test of time.
Design is about being ready and able to create something out of nothing, and that’s like magic.
